Van Harmelen Beijneveld Van Houten Advocaten was founded in 1987 as a spin-off of the former law firm of Loeff Claeys Verbeke. Since then Van Harmelen Beijneveld Van Houten Advocaten have grown in size and is now a medium-sized Amsterdam law firm.
Jumelet Marx Advocaten is a comprehensive, specialized law firm active in shipping, insurance and trade. The firm was established in 2002. Both founding partners had more than 10 years experience as maritime lawyers at that time.
In 2016 both firms joined forces under the name Fortis Counsel Chambers.
